What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Tutor position at Brookfield Public Schools?
Brookfield Public Schools has openings for Grant Funded - Title 1 - MathTutors at Whisconier Middle School.
We are looking for motivated and dedicated professionals to provide student intervention support for the academic year. Tutors work under the supervision of the administration and/or the math curriculum specialist
and will work across all grade levels (6-8) to support students with direct, targeted math intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade-level expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support;
- Work directly with students to provide one-on-one, small group instruction or push into classrooms;
- Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement;
- Track and maintain records of student progress;
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements,
- progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions;
- Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs that promotes increased math/learning performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience with middle school-aged children.
- Elementary/Middle School Teacher or math certification and experience supporting math instruction
- Willingness to participate in any math instruction training;
- Enthusiasm for helping children;
- Respectful attitude;
- Ability to manage plans and drive positive results;
- Patience, flexibility, and adaptability
- Hours - 3 hours per day - Monday - Friday or by arrangement. School days only.
