EL Tutor

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to support English language development.
• Use LAS Links scores and other data to assess student progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Scaffold Tier 1 curriculum as needed to support students at various stages of language acquisition.
• Align instruction with CELP Standards to ensure language goals are met.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate language learning strategies into the general education setting.
• Adapt materials and instructional approaches to meet the diverse needs of EL students.
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
• Participate as part of an English Learner department, including department meetings and consultation sessions.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience providing instruction in a school setting.
• Experience working with multilingual learners in an instructional setting.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Flexible, student-centered, and committed to supporting language acquisition and academic success.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Teaching certification or coursework in TESOL, bilingual education, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience in an educational setting, preferably working with EL/ML students.
