TQ is responsible for ensuring that all BNL staff (i.e., employees, guests, users, visitors, and contractors) are trained and qualified to perform their assigned tasks and job functions. Duties And Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to design, develop and deliver classroom instructor-led, virtual instructor-led and online/Web training in support of the Lab’s industrial/OSHA safety program (e.g., Rigging, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fall Protection, Hazardous Materials/Hazwoper, etc.
- Create course content, training packages, developing interactive learning modules, and structuring curriculum based on learning objectives.
- Develop training solutions using e-learning development tools, which include using storyboards and design directions to create resources such as videos, job aids, and modules.
- Consult technical subject matter experts to conduct needs analyses for training analysis, design, and delivery methods.
- Provide training support for general lab-wide training such as, General Employee Training, Contractor/Vendor Orientation, CPR, and others as needed
- Assist in the development of training standards, systems, and procedures for Lab-wide use
- Collaborate with the TQ Training Coordinator to maintain training records and documentation in support of the Lab’s records management and retention procedures
- Use training to positively impact the Lab’s safety culture, reducing accidents and injuries on-site
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or a related technical discipline focused on compliance training (e.g., OSHA, industrial safety, chemical safety/industrial hygiene, contaminants, high-hazard); or equivalent directly related experience (2 years of experience = 1 year of college)
- A minimum of 4 years of substantive and relevant work experience, delivering and designing OSHA compliance-based training programs
- At least 5 years of instructional design experience
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver training materials that meet regulatory and industry standards
- High proficiency in instructional design and eLearning development software (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines using sound independent judgment
- 10 years of relevant professional experience
- 8 years of instructional design experience
- Solid project management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in scientific or laboratory environments
- Familiarity with Department of Energy (DOE) regulations and applicable standards
- CPR certification
- Experience presenting in MS Teams and Zoom platforms
- Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality results
- Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, or content-specific area
