What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Front Desk position at Brookhurst Plaza Inn?
We are located in the Anaheim area, a historic building. We're looking for a front desk person who's excited to be a part of our team.
Our hotel is dedicated to offering quality rooms and service for a fair price. We pride ourselves on making sure each guest has a wonderful experience. We expect our employees to be friendly, courteous, helpful, and professional to our guests and fellow employees.
Responsibilities:
- Provide courteous, prompt, professional and attentive guest service at all times whilst on the desk developing a personal rapport to learn about their needs and expectations during the stay.
- Cashiering duties including posting charges, handling an individual cash float, debit, credit cards and billing settlements rectifying any/all outages and/or shortages before the conclusion of your shift.
- Welcome guests to the hotel upon arrival using their name, present registration card confirming room rate/type, address details & number of guests, establish credit and offer of luggage assistance to the room
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manners.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the hotel's standards as required by scheduling which varies according to the needs of the front desk.
- Maintain proper operation of phone calls and answer inquires regarding room booking, room service, food, etc.
- Establish and maintain good communications and team work with fellow associates and other department within the hotel.
- As needed, deliver guest items such as luggage, messages, packages, amenities requested by guests or team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned which may include but are not limited to the following: maintaining a clean and organized work area, overall cleanliness and safety throughout the front desk, back office and hotel lobby area, helping co-workers in other areas of the hotel as needed.
Qualifications:
- Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to guests.
- Must be computer literate and should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and have previously worked with a Property Management System.
- Must be available to work various shifts, evening and day shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Must be legally able to work in the United States.
- Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train some who are motivated, fast learners, and committed to high-quality work consistently.
