Seasonal Fire Hydrant Painter
Location: Brookings Municipal Utilities – Main Office
Typical Hours (weather permitting): Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00PM
Wage: $19.09/Hour
This individual will primarily be responsible for assisting with the upkeep of the fire hydrants throughout the community. Additional tasks may be assigned based on department needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Work Environment:
- Primarily works in an outdoor environment.
- Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions, which may include extreme heat.
- Routinely exposed to noise, dust, dirt, paint and associated fumes.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal with occasional exposure to loud noise levels.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend crouch or crawl.
- Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; speak; hear; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
