Key Responsibilities:
- HVAC System Operations
- Regulate and adjust low-pressure boilers and replace filters
- Monitor and operate HVAC systems to ensure proper performance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC system issues, including mechanical and electrical problems
- Oversee and maintain air handlers, rooftop units, and other critical equipment
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all district HVAC systems
- Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on toilets, sinks, drinking fountains, and other plumbing components
- Replace light bulbs, electrical outlets, light switches, and perform other minor electrical tasks (as authorized)
- Repair locks, doors, windows, lockers, furniture, and machinery as needed
- Safety and Compliance
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and district safety standards
- Ensure HVAC systems comply with building codes, health and safety regulations, and energy conservation standards
- Collaboration and Administration
- Maintain detailed records of service calls, equipment repairs, and preventive maintenance activities in the facility management system
- Work closely with school administrators, custodial staff, and contractors to meet building needs
- Assist with managing construction projects and procuring parts, equipment, and materials
- Provide regular reports to the Director of Operations on system performance, ongoing projects, and future needs
- Emergency Response and Additional Duties
- Serve as the point of contact for emergency HVAC repairs and critical system failures
- Perform security tours and respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues
- Cover for day lead custodians and perform other duties as assigned
- Class C Chief Engineer Boiler License
- HVAC Electrician License
- Refrigerant Recovery License
- Valid Driver's License
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience
- Extensive HVAC, boiler, and building maintenance experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and building codes
- $65,000–$85,000/year, based on experience and education
