Requirements
- Highs School Graduate or GED
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program Licensed by New York State Department of Education
- Successful completion of a course in billing - HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Direct patient care experience
- Previous experience in and knowledge of clinic operations, patient registration / scheduling
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Must speak English proficiently. Legible handwriting
- Moderate to strong data processing, computer and typing skills. Computer data entry
- Ability to meet public, communicate clearly on the telephone, interact with patients, staff and other hospital departments
- Ability to document and retrieve information from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Job Description
The Medical Office Associate performs a variety of clinical activities, under direction of a Physician or Registered Nurse, and administrative and clerical duties to support the effective and efficient operations of the Clinic.
