About the role
The Digital Imaging Technician produces digital photographs and high-resolution scans of collection objects, library and archives materials, exhibition installations, museum building and grounds, and select programming in support of the museum’s exhibitions and mission. This role stands out from other digital imaging technician positions due to the unique opportunity to engage directly with museum collection objects in a studio environment. This role will report to the Director of Digital Collections.
Responsibilities
Photography and Image Production
- Create high resolution digital photographs of collection objects (primarily works on paper and other two-dimensional art), library and archives materials, exhibition installations, the museum building and grounds, staff portraits, select programs, and candid images of visitors in the galleries.
- Produce publication-quality scans of existing media using flatbed and drum scanners.
- Create archival match prints to aid print production.
Studio assistance, maintenance, and cross departmental planning
