Position: Construction Assistant
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Reports to: Construction Manager
Hours: Full-time, Mon-Fri 7am-6pm. (some evenings)

About The Position
The Construction Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Construction Manager in all non-standard construction activities. It is primarily specialty construction needs in support of the Brooklyn Solarworks custom projects program.
Responsibilities
Load out vehicles and drive them to construction sites
Carry out all site preparation and post installation construction activities Including but not limited to:
Plan reading
Roof attachments
Flashing/ waterproofing
Conduit bending / Conduit runs
Solar commissioning
Maintain compliance with all OSHA safety rules and protocols for the company.
Carry out additional duties as needed by the Construction Manager or VP of Installations
Track activities in Quickbase (QB) CRM system.
Required Skill Set
OSHA 30 hr 10 hr SST is required.
A high school diploma is required.
Driver's license and clean driving record is required.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 40 lbs.
Minimum NEC and NYC building code knowledge.
At Least 1 year practical construction experience
Comfortable with heights, climbing ladders and standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
Excellent Communication and record keeping skills.
Computer literacy - quickbase/ G suite/others.
Familiarity with all construction aspects of BSW systems.
Able to work variable hours.
Passion for Brooklyn SolarWorks mission.
Preferred Skill Set
A passion for Brooklyn SolarWork's mission.
Solar Equipment And Installation Experience Is Preferred.
Roofing experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation & Mobility Potential
$24-28/hr
