Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled musician to provide musical leadership for Catholic Services in support of the Department of Ministry and Pastoral Care at Tripler Army Medical Center. The musician will be responsible for enhancing the worship atmosphere through preludes, postludes, hymns, and background music during Saturday and Sunday Masses, as well as special/holiday services as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide musical accompaniment for Saturday Mass (4:45 PM - 6:05 PM) and Sunday Mass (10:45 AM - 12:05 PM).
- Lead and select hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs in collaboration with the priest or chaplain.
- Perform musical preludes 15 minutes before the start of services and postludes for at least 5 minutes after services.
- Accompany choir, mass, or ceremony rehearsals.
- Ensure compliance with liturgical requirements and enhance the atmosphere of worship.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in accompanying a chapel or Catholic service.
- Proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar.
- Familiarity with Catholic liturgical music and services.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
