Work with the SAG (System Automation Group) team to design, document, and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment for test and calibration in worldwide operations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and documentation of electro-mechanical test stands for the manufacturing of precision flow control instruments.
- Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing systems, including developing CAD mechanical models, electrical and wiring schematics, P&IDs, network diagrams, I/O lists, and bills of materials.
- Integrate mechanical components with electrical systems to ensure they work together seamlessly. This may involve wiring, connecting sensors and actuators, and programming control systems.
- Work with stakeholders to understand test specifications and create concise requirements for the mechanical and software engineering groups.
- Create accurate project documentation, including schematics and operational manuals.
- Conduct research to adopt the latest technologies and improve system performance.
- Work with manufacturing, engineering, and service organizations to implement and validate advanced manufacturing processes into production.
- Assist in the creation of CapEx for new equipment.
- Procure components, including search catalogs, requesting quotes, gathering lead time information, and completing purchase requisitions and track part status to keep builds on schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to interpret or develop equipment specifications, complex drawings, schematics, and follow machine control software.
- Mechanical CAD experience designing fixtures desired (Solidworks and AutoCAD)
- Ability to select and evaluate sensors, actuators, motors, and control devices based on system requirements.
- Experience connecting PC systems, PLC’s, DAQ hardware, communication ports, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with the skills to set up and utilize various mechanical and electronic laboratory equipment.
- Ability to get along with others in a team environment and to follow all safety procedures. This individual shall possess great interpersonal skills to work with technicians and engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- BS in Engineering or other technical field and 2 years of production equipment design or manufacturing engineering experience required.
- Proven experience designing and documenting electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience designing/troubleshooting fluid systems (pneumatic or compressed gas) highly desired.
