THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Process Automation Technician II, you assist in the installation, diagnostics, and maintenance of industrial automation equipment.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface with staff engineers, external technical representatives, operations, and maintenance personnel. Provide automation system maintenance, electrical/instrumentation assistance, and associated programming for support.
- Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and programming of industrial automation equipment (i.e. instrumentation, industrial communications, process control systems, and third-party equipment).
- Run and optimize the process. Input samples into the automated process lines and troubleshoot to identify problems and fix them as required.
- Ensures assay quality by calibration and maintenance of automated equipment.
- Actively participates in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of an approved certified electronics, electrical and/or instrumentation program OR
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance.
- Strong technical knowledge in communication, interfaces and protocols.
- Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge, as well as safety.
Preferred
- Capable of specifying instrumentation and components for projects
- Familiar with advanced instrumentation methods, e.g. PSM, PERI, Metso Visio products
- Commissioning of modern motor control
- Project design and creation of PCS (process control systems)/ HMI projects
- Creates/modifies advanced graphical objects
- Modification/troubleshooting of Process Control narratives
- Familiar/ knowledge of advanced loops such as cascade and feed forward
- Valid Driver's license
