Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee utility line construction operations, lead crews, and manage critical infrastructure projects. This role requires extensive experience in utility operations with a focus on safety, leadership, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily utility line construction and maintenance operations, including both overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
- Provide leadership and direction to general foremen, line crews, and troubleshooters
- Manage and coordinate plant projects, maintenance activities, and outages
- Develop and implement work schedules while monitoring project progress and workflow
- Lead safety initiatives, including conducting crew evaluations, safety audits, and training sessions
- Coordinate emergency response and storm restoration efforts
- Manage material procurement, equipment resources, and fleet maintenance
- Investigate and resolve customer service issues related to electrical services
- Ensure compliance with NERC requirements, company policies, and industry regulations
- Supervise construction activities during plant projects and outages
Required Qualifications
- 20 years of experience in utility line construction and electrical operations
- Extensive supervisory experience in utility operations management
- Comprehensive knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems
- Certifications in:
- Hot Stick Work
- Hot Board Operations
- Hot Glove Work
- Distribution Troubleshooting
- NERC background and knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and workflow management tools
- Demonstrated experience in crew training and mentorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with major utility companies (Duke Energy, Tampa Electric)
- Knowledge of lighting circuits, fixtures, and LED conversion projects
- Background in industrial mechanics
- Welding supervision experience
