Our global medical device client is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Lab Technician to support our engineering and development teams in Waukesha, WI. In this role, you will work hands-on in a laboratory environment, assisting with testing, prototyping, and troubleshooting various hardware and software systems. The ideal candidate has experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), basic soldering, networking, database interactions, and additive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track experiments, test results, and samples.
- Connect and interact with databases or external software to retrieve and store critical lab data.
- Perform basic soldering of wires and electronic components as needed for prototype assembly and testing.
- Support network setup and troubleshooting, ensuring proper connectivity for lab equipment and test systems.
- Assist in additive manufacturing (3D printing) for prototyping and small-scale production of components.
- Collaborate with engineers to execute test procedures, document results, and analyze data to support product development.
- Maintain lab equipment, tools, and workspaces to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with LIMS systems in a lab environment.
- Familiarity with database interactions (SQL knowledge is a plus).
- Basic soldering skills for wire connections and electronics work.
- Understanding of networking concepts, including setting up and troubleshooting lab networks.
- Experience with additive manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare, medical device, or regulated industry.
- Experience integrating lab instruments with software systems.
