Quality Assurance Specialist
100% Remote (MUST be located in Columbus, OH)
2-month Contract (with potential for further extension)
OVERVIEW
Brooksource is seeking a skilled mid-level Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist for one of our Public Sector clients to assist with a variety of upcoming programs, including a system modernization project. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring software quality through both manual and automated testing and analysis, and will collaborate closely with development teams, stakeholders, and end-users to identify and resolve issues.
RESPONSIBILITES
- Reviewing software requirements and user stories and preparing test scenarios.
- Designing and developing automation and manual testing scripts.
- Executing all testing levels (system, integration, regression, etc.) to confirm software meets requirements.
- Detecting and tracking software defects and inconsistencies.
- Providing support documentation on defects and test results.
- Preparing reports on all aspects of software testing carried out and reporting to the design team.
- Interacting with clients and/or vendors to understand product requirements as needed.
- Participating in design reviews and providing input on requirements, product design, and potential problems.
- Providing timely reviews, designs, solutions, documentation as required.
- Applying quality engineering principles throughout the Agile product lifecycle.
- Running and managing testing jobs and test calendars.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS EXPERIENCE
- Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in quality assurance testing, such as performing systems analysis, developing and/or modifying programs for computer applications, performing testing, debugging, code review, and/or assisting with analysis and design.
- Experience with both manual and automated software testing.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Must live in Columbus, OH - the position is 100% remote, but the candidate must be located in Columbus.
