Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for our utility client, one of the largest producers of electricity in the US. In this PM role, you will lead and manage large-scale Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects supporting Transmission and Large Pipeline business units. This role is instrumental in developing and optimizing GIS processes to enhance operational efficiency and data integration, working closely with stakeholders across engineering, IT, and operations to ensure GIS initiatives align with business needs and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage GIS projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality execution.
- Partner with Transmission and Large Pipeline Operations teams to assess data requirements and enhance GIS functionalities.
- Develop and implement new GIS processes to optimize data management and operational workflows.
- Work cross-functionally with IT, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless incorporation of GIS processes.
- Create detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders, addressing any issues or scope changes.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for end-users to ensure effective utilization of new GIS tools and processes.
- Stay current with GIS trends, technologies, and best practices, applying them to pipeline and transmission operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations.
Qualifications
- BS/MS Degree in Engineering required; PMP certification or Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
- 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the Utility or Pipeline industry.
- Experience working with Transmission and Large Pipeline data is highly preferred.
- Strong track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across business and technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for advancing GIS processes and driving innovation in the Utility and Pipeline industry.
