What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Brookstone Church?
PURPOSE:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for all facilities and grounds owned by Brookstone Church. They lead their team in the maintenance, care, and efficient operation of all equipment used by the organization. The Facilities Manager also serves as a member of the Lead team within the organization as a whole.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hires and trains building maintenance and grounds staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Organizes and manages the daily workflow, scheduling, and assignments of the building maintenance and grounds department.
- Recruits, trains, schedules, and supervises a team of volunteers.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with ministry policy.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the building maintenance and grounds departments.
- Evaluates systems, facilities, and grounds to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
- Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
- Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
- Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
- Inspects and performs maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Ensures facilities and equipment are ready for regular services and special events to include room/event set-up and potential furniture relocation depending on event.
- Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
- Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment.
- Provides recommendations for purchases of new equipment.
- Collaborates with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement the budget.
- Team-building of both staff and volunteers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Extensive knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Proficient with or willing to learn Google Suite, Planning Center, Basecamp, etc…
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience managing church facilities or similar types of facilities, grounds, equipment, and events is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
- Must be physically able to perform tasks and repairs when needed.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
- Willing to work outside in a variety of seasons with the potential for inclement weather.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Facilities Manager reports to the Executive Pastor of Operations and Senior Pastor.
OVERSIGHT:
The Facilities Manager will provide oversight to Facilities Assistants and volunteer teams.
HOURS:
Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm, Sunday 7am-1pm, All services as needed or required.
SALARY:
A competitive salary wage commensurate with experience will be provided

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
