SANITATION MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sanitation Manager will supervise and assure the smooth functioning of the Sanitation Department in order to meet Government Regulations and the Company's dedication to
Quality control, Food Safety, and High Sanitation Standards, while leading the team by mentoring and coaching your staff.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Schedules, trains, and supervises personnel efficiently, keeping overtime to a minimum.
• Complies with provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, (if applicable) including rules and regulations, assignment of overtime and attendance procedures.
• Communicates with the Production Management Team on all problems, both sanitation and labor, to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintains strict Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s), Sanitation and Safety standards. Investigates on-the-job accidents, and assures compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Develops and Maintains a Master Sanitation schedule so that all areas and equipment are listed and indicate which areas need to be clean.
• Maintains the proper cleaning and sanitizing of all machines, equipment, and conveyors.
• Assists with Regulatory Inspections such as Food and Drug Administration, State and Local Inspections, Military Inspections, Customer Inspections, and any other customer-requested inspection.
• Keeps adequate inventory of Sanitation Supplies.
• Assures the grounds around the building are free of debris and pest.
• Reports all potential equipment malfunctions or building repairs to the maintenance department. Follows up on reports to ensure that effective repairs are being made.
• Oversees receiving department, and receiver. Ensures that the company’s receiving program is in place and is being properly carried out. Ensures that there are efficient amounts of ingredients and packaging supplies.
• Cooperates with other departments of the company, keeping in mind Quality, Food Safety, and High Sanitation Standards. Keeps technically informed. Stays up to date on all new and changing standards in the industry.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree is a PLUS
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment of 30ºF to 45ºF up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have people and communication skills.

Experience:

• 7 years of experience working as a Sanitation Manager
• 7 years of experience working in Food Manufacturing

Overall Requirements:

Ability to understand plant KPI’s (production, quality & safety)

Ability to work in fast paced environment

Understands yield standards

Performs basic housekeeping tasks

Testing is required

Follows all GMP, PPE & Safety Guidelines & handbook

Able to work flexible schedule

Comply with SQF Regulatory Programs

Team player-able to work on a team environment

Knowledge of HACCP & Sanitation guidelines & processes

Ability to multi-task

Ability to be cross trained and multitask in multiple positions

Lead people & communication skills

Be able to operate freezer, filler etc. and control overrun

Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
