POSITION SUMMARY

The Lead Event Technician supports the Production Staff at The Parker through the optimal execution of all aspects of technical support, administrative support, production support, and service to all customers, both internal and external, to help ensure the successful execution of events at PACA affiliated venues. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate with Production Staff regarding details (schedule/crew position/etc.) of each event to be appropriately prepared.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of each facility, including painting, replacement of light bulbs in stage and non-stage areas, etc.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Production and Technical Supervisors, execute aspects of any event as needed to ensure that the events’ production is implemented smoothly and completely.
  • Manage events by making decisions regarding technical emergencies, PACA emergencies, safety, financial interests of the client (internally or externally), and/or financial interests of PKR and PACA, as needed.
  • Set-up and operate all theater systems as needed.
  • Communicate with the Supervisor any needs or suggestions to improve the implementation of assigned duties as determined during the course of performing assigned duties.
  • Communicate concerns/observations regarding the safety and proper use of all PACA and Affiliated Venues' equipment and the equipment from any rental house or touring production.
  • Perform non-stage related work as assigned, including, but not limited to: Janitorial services, facilities maintenance, parking services, Front of House assistance, non-stage related events, etc.
  • Assist the Production staff with Advance process, including creating and updating show notes, sign-in sheets, daily payroll sheets and crew and vendor scheduling.
  • Assist the Director of Production and respective Production/Operations/Event Services departments in executing production/operations/event services for each event as assigned by the Director of Production or Supervisor. 
  • Develop positive working relationships with Operations and Event Services and Production staff of each venue to ensure effective and consistent application of PACA production guidelines at all PACA affiliated venues.
  • Confirm and authorize Event Technician daily time sheets for accuracy each day according to the department’s payroll processing procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Production Department (filing paperwork, maintaining office 
  • equipment, placing orders for equipment) with the approval of the Director of Production. 
  • Maintain and update the Production Department's administrative policies, processes, and supplies.
  • Maintain ongoing and frequent communication between all Production staff to keep the department 
  • informed of necessary and important issues, details, and concerns. 
  • Maintain employee, vendor, and stage crew contact information.
  • Research, order, track, and maintain inventories of physical and digital materials. 
  • Maintain a list of vendors for supplies, equipment, repairs, rentals, etc.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

  • Able to demonstrate sound judgment, integrity, and ethical behavior in all daily activities.
  • Able to use Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar, etc.
  • Able to effectively and efficiently multitask, set priorities, shift priorities, and adapt to changes in situations.
  • Able to follow direction from Management and to accept constructive feedback.
  • Able to exhibit appropriate, professional, and corporate demeanor, considerable tact, and courtesy in a variety of situations.
  • Able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Able to work effectively and positively with others.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical supervision as assigned by the Director of Production during events to ensure the proper and effective execution of the event requirements and the satisfaction of the user.
  • Supervise Event Technicians, backstage activity, and be responsible for delegating technical responsibilities as needed.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School, High School Equivalent, or Higher: General or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
