POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Intern will learn about Human Resources operations and provide support through assisting with daily HR responsibilities and projects including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, off-boarding, payroll, benefits, personnel relations, and office management. Our paid internship program is designed to provide you with a comprehensive learning experience and gain real-world practical business experience that will jumpstart your career. The Intern will work under the direction of the Department VP, Director, or Manager. This opportunity will provide hands-on experience, networking opportunities and develop your skillset and capabilities to further your career.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Summer Intern program starts in June and continues for up to 6 weeks.
  • Part-time paid internship - $15 per hour.
  • This internship is onsite at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts or one of our affiliated venues.
  • Schedule: Schedule varies based on the department, average 20 hours per week.
  • Learn how to effectively communicate with various internal and external departments.
  • Gain professional skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with others, professional conduct, ethics, and general operations.
  • Develop team building skills, with ability to work with all levels and roles of an organization effectively.
  • Work as part of the team to provide support to ensure reliability and efficiency with processes.

Knowledge And Abilities

  • Ability to maintain a physical presence at designated work locations, maintaining regular attendance, punctuality and working a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and events may be required.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time and task management skills.

Desired Education And Experience

  • Must be in your junior or senior year of undergraduate studies or a graduate student and currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, majoring in a related field for the department you would like to intern.
  • New Graduates having completed a related field of study no more than 1 year ago.
