The Dean of Career and Technical Education Support Services serves in a senior district capacity for the management, operations, and assessment of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs (AAS/AS/TC/PSAV/ATD/ATC for institutional effectiveness in accordance with state, SACSCOC, and grant guidelines. Responsible for budgeting, purchasing, payroll, and management of CTE Support Services (CTE Enrollment, CTE Curriculum, CTE Credit for Prior Learning, Industry Certification, CTE Advisement, CTE Career & Placement) and assigned Grant personnel (Get Real OSY and American Apprenticeship). Directs and oversees the creation of marketing initiatives, materials, and plans (website, multimedia, social media and brochure development) for all CTE programs. Responsible for the implementation of all activities, objectives, and outcomes related to the Carl D. Perkins Grant.

Minimum Education
- Master’s Degree required.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Ten years of general business experience, including over eight years in management and five years in post-secondary or higher education. Experience in career and technical education or workforce training. Knowledge in planning, developing, implementing and enforcing curriculum standards, grant compliance and college policies and procedures. Implementation of program assessment concepts and accountability guidelines with experience in data research and analysis. Ability to research and report on labor market data. Experience in the conceptualization and development of marketing materials (e.g. brochures, websites). Experience with student support services as it relates to Career and Technical Education students to include: enrollment, advisement, credit for prior learning, career services and employability skills training. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with computer skills: Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must possess the ability to create professional PowerPoint presentations that will be viewed by prospective students, business leaders, college administrators, etc. Ability to create reports and spreadsheets in Excel to submit to external organizations (e.g. FLDOE), and internally.
- Daily - 10%: Provides effective leadership to the college community in fulfilling the mission of the college as it relates to the short and long-term strategic planning initiatives for Workforce (i.e. Career & Technical) Education in Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Science, Post-Secondary Adult Vocational, Technical Certificates, Applied Technology Diplomas, and Advanced Technical Certificates.
- Daily - 20%: Provides leadership, administration and evaluation of full and part-time staff to oversee the effectiveness of CTE Support Services (CTE Enrollment, CTE Curriculum, CTE Credit for Prior Learning, CTE Advisement, CTE Career & Placement) and Assigned Grant Personnel to ensure successful outcomes that support and promote the College’s mission and college-wide goals and initiatives.
- Daily - 10%: Provides strategic planning, leadership, and management for new and existing programs. Makes recommendations to the college’s discipline specific leadership teams for enhancements and improvements, submits required program review reports to the state of Florida, and reports on program outcomes to senior leadership at the college.
- Daily - 5%: Develops, directs and works in conjunction with Marketing Department on college-wide marketing initiatives to support enrollment management of career and technical education programs.
- Daily - 5%: Liaison for the local workforce boards to enter into annual contractual agreements and ad-hoc grant opportunities.
- Monthly - 5%: Establishes short & long range goals and strategic initiatives for CTE in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Workforce Education & Economic Development.
- Monthly - 5%: Monitors and reports on the College's compliance with regard to State, Federal, and SACS mandates such as Perkins Performance Measures, FLDOE Curriculum Frameworks, and SACS Institutional Effectiveness Guidelines.
- Weekly - 5%: Directs and leads the research and reporting of labor market data, workforce trends, and curricular standards in support of identifying an individual technical program's viability and in identifying new technical programs needed to support local workforce demands.
- Other - 20%: Oversees the management, budget and deliverables for the following grants: Get Real OSY, Carl D. Perkins and American Apprenticeship grant programs. Submit Carl. D Perkins grant proposal and amendments.
- Other - 5%: Develops and maintains partnerships with organizations, business and industry to build the college-wide engagement strategy for corporate outreach. Participates in state-wide meetings as a representative of Broward College on curricular items regarding CTE programs. Represents Career & Technical Education at Internal College meetings such as advisory board meetings, curriculum committee meetings, district-wide committee meetings, grant meetings, and various administrative meetings.
- Other - 5%: Oversees the development and administration of annual budgets in the Workforce Education & Economic Development department for direct report units.
