Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Crematory Operator/Removal Technician/Funeral Attendant. This multifaceted position involves assisting with crematory operations, conducting removals at homes and hospitals, providing support at funeral services, and performing various tasks as assigned by the manager. While crematory operator certification is preferred, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate. This role requires a high level of professionalism, integrity, and a strong ability to interact with families during difficult times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crematory Operations Support:
Assist the crematory operator in performing cremations while adhering to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure the maintenance of cremation equipment and assist with operational tasks as needed.
- Removals:
Perform removals of deceased individuals from homes, hospitals, or other facilities, ensuring dignified and respectful handling at all times. Maintain accurate records of each removal. Maintain a valid, state-issued driver's license with a clear driving record.
- Funeral Attendant Support:
Assist with the preparation and set-up of funeral services, including transporting and setting up caskets, arranging flowers, and ensuring all necessary materials are available for the service. Provide general support during services, such as guiding guests, assisting with seating, and ensuring the comfort of mourners.
Act as an escort for the deceased to the burial or cremation site as directed. Provide any other support needed to help the funeral process run smoothly.
- Compassionate Communication:
Demonstrate effective communication with grieving families, colleagues, and healthcare providers, showing high levels of empathy, professionalism, and respect.
- Attention to Detail:
Maintain precise records of all tasks, removals, and cremation processes. Ensure the accurate labeling, documentation, and handling of remains.
- General Assistance:
Perform any other duties assigned by the Crematory Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and overall customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Crematory Operator Certification (Preferred, Will Train): Certification is a plus, but training will be provided for candidates without experience.
- Valid Driver’s License: Must have a clear, state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and handle heavy objects safely and perform physical labor in various conditions.
- Effective Communication Skills: Must possess strong communication skills, with an ability to interact sensitively and professionally with families in grief.
- High Levels of Compassion and Integrity: The role demands individuals who approach their duties with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and discretion.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent follow-up skills and a high degree of accuracy are essential for maintaining records and processing services.
- Flexible and Team-Oriented: Ability to adapt to changing situations and work collaboratively within a team setting.

Compensation and Benefits:
$22-$25/hour Full-time, Health Insurance Benefits paid at 100% for employee after 90 days, 401K with company contributions, $50,000 Life Insurance Policy for employee, Option for Vision, Dental and additional life insurance, 10 PTO Days after 90 days, Paid company holidays
