JOB TITLE: Change Management Senior Business Analyst Grade: 7 POSITION SUMMARY: Strong candidates for our Senior Business Analyst role demonstrate a transformative mindset and welcome the opportunity to be empowered to champion and drive continuous improvement. The Change Management Senior Business Analyst works as part of a project team, participating in all phases of the project life cycle. As a member of the Change Management Team, the Business Analyst engages in and contributes to the continued evolution and improvement of our project execution processes and tools to improve business results. The successful candidate will be able to gather and document business requirements, perform analysis, research issues, complete traceability and contribute to system and process design solutions. In addition to their Project Team, the BA will interface with clients, operations teams, Systems partners, Project Management Office, and other internal and external parties as required. The Senior Business Analyst may participate in the user acceptance testing, training and implementation of new and existing applications as defined in a project plan. They will be equally at ease discussing business and technical issues and will be able to lead solution discovery. POSITION SCOPE: (Completed by Manager) Provide an example of how this role applies independent discretion, makes decisions and applies judgment in matters of significance. The role conducts business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product. S/he articulates the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence. The analyst must recognize patterns in complex information and identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions. S/he performs assessment of feasible solutions and the range of problems they may solve. The role of the department is to manage and execute a portfolio of projects in support of BBHs Service Delivery business. The Senior Business Analyst, under the direction of a Project Manager, conducts interviews with business managers and staff to understand business requirements, assists in the analysis and design of possible solutions, and supports the development and implementation of the solution. The Senior Business Analyst takes direction from the Project Manager and must understand and apply the standards and best practices outlined by the Project Management Office. The role serves as a liaison between business managers and systems analysts and developers to understand and articulate business requirements, and assist in the design, development and implementation of technology enhancements. The role may interact with external clients and vendors as necessary to understand and analyze client requests or the impact of technology changes on the clients’ processes and systems. This role has no direct reports. This role may train business analysts (peers or a level below). JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited to as applicable under local laws 1. Project Planning/Tracking Assist the Project Manager or Lead Business Analyst in defining the scope of the project. Identify business goals and problems in individual business units and across the organization. Assist in the preparation of a project plan as appropriate. This will involve creation of a work breakdown structure, deliverables and milestones, and deadlines 2. Data Collection & Documentation Document business requirements gathered from business users, sponsors and clients, and obtain user signoff on the requirements. Identify and interview key individuals to gather needed details and direction to define business requirements. Track and organize open items; understand the time sensitivities of open issues and drive to resolution. Communicate defects to Systems developers. Track delivery dates for defect fixes and maintain status reporting. Escalate appropriately. Document new or revised procedures or workflows and communicate them effectively to business teams and/or client. Document Change Requests, provide effort estimates and document business requirements for approved Change Requests 3. Analysis Conduct business analysis to determine how changing business needs will affect the system or product; clearly articulate the business need and potential solutions with support of insightful analysis and documented evidence Recognize patterns in complex information and identify key issues. Identify gaps between business requirements and existing or proposed design solutions. Contribute ideas and solutions to management to enhance design and deliverables. Perform assessment of feasible solutions and the range of problems they may solve. Understand technical concepts and how they impact the project/business. Work with business areas to identify productivity improvements in workflows and procedures. Work with business areas to identify areas of risk for errors and omissions. Participate in testing of system changes, which may include user acceptance testing, regression testing, client testing and/or parallel/pilot testing as required Client Interaction (Internal and External) Assist in client workshops and meetings to identify key issues, requirements, and gaps. Conduct user/client training when necessary. Assist in the creation of product announcements and modification of client demonstration materials as needed.
