Brown & Brown is seeking a Regional Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing team in New Jersey.
The Regional Human Resources Business Partner will provide leadership and strategic Human Resources (HR) operational support for a segment of offices in our Retail Division through business partnerships with senior and local leaders.
How You Will Contribute:
- Culture: Understands the Brown & Brown structure, philosophy, and overall culture and works diligently to support profit centers through Human Resources shared services.
- Internal Client Relationship Management: Manage relationships with Retail Senior Leaders (RSL) and Profit Center Leaders (PCL) and act as a business partner to them in growing the business, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and mobilizing appropriate internal and/or external resources to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
- Functional Strategy Formation: Collaborates with counterparts and leaders to implement best practices within the profit centers, ensuring integration with HR strategic goals and consistency across the enterprise.
- Collaborates to develop HR strategies and lead integration within the area of responsibility.
- In conjunction with leadership, develops recruiting strategies to meet current and future staffing needs.
- Provides an experienced business and scale mindset.
- Delivers guidance and input on business unit structures, organizational transformation, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing trends and recommending solutions to HR issues.
- Collaborate with leadership to recruit, train, develop and coach HR teammates.
- Partner with legal counsel, as appropriate, finance counterparts, and other disciplines of the business.
- Supports due diligence and people integration strategies for M&A activities.
- Information and Business Advice: Provide authoritative specialist advice to leaders to enable the implementation of policy, training, change initiatives and other projects.

- Employment Practices Case Management: Investigate and propose solutions for complex and/or high-level Employment Practices (EP) cases in liaison with leaders.
- Policy and Procedures: Uses expertise to act as the organizational authority on HR initiatives and best practices, while ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, objectives, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with EP, Leave of Absence, and Talent Acquisition Care Centers’ leaders to ensure all HR policies and practices comply with federal, state, and local laws, and meet the business objectives.
- Coordinate with Payroll and Total Rewards teams to deploy enterprise tools and resources.
- Conduct regular HR compliance audits.
- Recruiting and Workforce Planning: Applies expertise to act as the organizational authority on ensuring the organization can recruit people with the skills it needs to achieve competitive advantage, while also balancing its resources to meet short-term and long-term strategic goals.
- Develop recruitment strategies tailored to the labor market that utilize the strengths of the Talent Acquisition team.
- Work with counterparts plus divisional business partners in Finance (DCFO) and Technology Solutions (DCIO) as needed to conduct workforce planning.
- Support international hiring and immigration needs.
- Align onboarding processes to integrate new hires effectively.
- Working with Communications & Branding, deploy marketing campaign strategies to amplify talent interests for each office.
- Ensures compliance with all laws including pay transparency, recruiting, and work authorization.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
- 10 years of progressive experience in a leadership/managerial capacity with a focus on Human Resources (HR) and Talent Acquisition.
- Proven results leading HR teams and developing them to the next level, setting priorities, allocating resources, taking accountability, and achieving measurable goals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to HR & business practices; strong business acumen.
- Direct experience scaling organizations efficiently and effectively, with ability to anticipate and proactively support growth-related changes.
- Expertise in diversity, inclusion and belonging, and has developed performance-based cultures with strong employee retention.
- Experience working across multiple digital platforms to organize and manage parallel workstreams (e.g., MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, Workday, DocuSign, etc.)
- Record of forging partnerships with Finance and other internal stakeholders, developing long-term workforce plans and talent forecasts, recruiting metrics and reports, and recruiting strategies.
- Reputation as a decisive, results-oriented leader and thought partner.
Pay Range
$100,000 - $120,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
