Job Summary
Performs varied and increasingly responsible clerical and typing work of a routine nature within an office environment. Performs additional clerical duties as necessary to support Department administrative staff.
Hours:
This is a full-time, limited-term position expected to start ASAP and go through approximately September 2025.
Now through 4/12/25 – Monday through Friday 7a-3p
4/14 thru 9/26/25 – Monday through Thursday 6a-4p
Essential Duties
Provides word processing and typing service for the Highway Department administrative staff.
Able to writes, review, and produce Operations, Procedures, and Safety manuals.
Assists administrative staff in the department by performing general clerical duties, data entry, and filing.
Minimum Qualifications Required
Must be at least 18 years old.
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.
Fluent with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and understand complex computer filing systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Knowledge of business English and spelling.
Knowledge of, and ability to utilize, a computer and the required software.
Ability to perform computer data entry.
Ability to follow simple written and oral instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment.
Ability to accept responsibility and exercise independent initiative and judgment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
