Description
The Computing Systems Technician 1 provides technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems. This includes troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining desktop and mobile systems in a diverse environment. The role involves testing and evaluating both commercial and Laboratory-developed software, ensuring quality control and functionality. You’ll maintain data security, manage passwords, and safeguard file systems while effectively communicating technical solutions to both technical and non-technical personnel. This position also involves recommending and implementing hardware and software solutions, including upgrades and new acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for network and desktop systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, mobile devices, and network issues.
- Test and evaluate software for quality assurance and operational effectiveness.
- Maintain system security, including password management and data integrity.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
