Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Engineer 3 to join our team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In this role, you will support the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Controls System by performing cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will be responsible for supervising and providing technical direction for cost engineering and planning/scheduling activities when delegated. Your role will involve identifying trends for management attention and resolving complex issues creatively and effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing cost estimating, analysis, and control activities.
- Developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules.
- Supporting project organizational and administrative activities.
- Supervising cost engineering and planning/scheduling functions when needed.
- Developing solutions for complex problems using innovative approaches.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Post-graduate coursework may be desirable.
- Experience in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, as well as cost engineering functions such as cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with PC operating systems and software applications.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management principles acquired through specialized instruction or practical experience.
- Experience with project controls, project management, budgets, and schedule implementation, including developing accurate status reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience serving as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
- Familiarity with DOE and LANL standards and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
