The Work Control Planner 1 is responsible for developing and reviewing work packages, including creating time, material, and labor estimates, as well as preparing written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and safety and testing requirements. The role involves supporting the implementation and control of operations, maintenance, or modification activities within a specific facility or area. This position may focus on planning duties related to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures. The Work Control Planner 1 will also be involved in identifying and resolving work constraints and bringing work packages to final closure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed work packages for maintenance, operational, and modification activities, ensuring all safety, quality, and procedural requirements are met.
- Prepare accurate estimates for time, labor, and materials needed to complete various tasks.
- Write step-by-step work instructions and procedures, including safety and testing requirements.
- Review and update existing work packages, ensuring they comply with the latest policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve work restraints and facilitate efficient work execution.
- Monitor work progress, make adjustments as needed, and ensure the final closure of work packages.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of related experience in work control planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, chemical, and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write detailed work instructions and procedures.
- Proficiency in time and material estimation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with work planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within industrial, manufacturing, or facility maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to safety and work control processes.
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment, such as nuclear or chemical facilities.
