What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planner II position at Brown & Root?
Responsible for all planning, procurement and project controls of Capital and Cost work activities assigned to B&R and the personnel assigned to positions in planning, scheduling, document control, purchasing, sketching, and warehousing. Provide continuous oversight of the work planning and execution process results and communicate any deviation to the plan and schedule based upon controls data.
This position will require overtime support as needed.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- SAP
- Preparation/Planning
- Attend meetings for upcoming projects and participate in ‘walk-downs' to understand B&R's responsibility.
- Set-up meetings and participate in walk-downs with supervision and engineering for all upcoming projects.
- Participate in estimate checks with planners, engineering and supervision.
- Oversees all material, tools and equipment ordering and receiving.
- Rents some equipment and tools.
- Answers Web Cycle issues.
- Information ‘hub' for all materials, tools and rental issues.
- Work Execution
- Provide direction and support to all assigned Brown and Root planning, scheduling, procurement, document control, and warehouse personnel.
- Act as the information “hub” for estimated and planned project and cost work, communicating on a regular basis with B&R supervision.
- Conducts walk-throughs to review work progress and will perform audits and observations to ensure compliance to plan and all applicable requirements i.e. PPE, JHA's, T.S.T.I'S permitting, special practices, etc...
- Ensure all rental equipment are taking off rent and secured in the staging/securing area when job is completed.
Health, Safety & Environmental
- Lead the review of the weekly site package and special topics with assigned personnel and ensure all employees sign off on training conducted.
- Support Safety Energy initiatives through personal and crew activities of a) audits of JHA's, b) Performing STOP Observations, c) Documenting all STOP Work actions, Audits, etc...
- Ensure that each morning line-up meeting starts with a Safety Moment and end with stretching exercises.
Personnel
- Evaluate every employee's capabilities and help set career paths.
- Assure that all Employees under your direct and indirect supervision are meeting all expectations
- Provide feedback to all employees under your direct and indirect supervision as to areas of strengths and areas in need of improvement. Coach employees to enhance job performance and document non-compliance actions through the employee evaluation and conference reporting process.
- Conduct employee evaluations per site requirements.
Administrative
- Send manpower list to Customer.
- Complete daily timesheets and audits all timesheets for correctness and accuracy.
- Submits phone request, office move request (phone and computer) to customer.
- Schedules and oversees the rigging inspections for the rigging equipment used by B&R.
- Addresses and answers Web Cycle issues.
- Responsible for the B&R Document Control practices and compliance to B&R and Customers Quality Control procedures.
- Responsible for overseeing and auditing the construction material receiving process. Includes the daily receivable documents available on shared drive.
- Answers questions regarding SAP data i.e. cost, plans, priority work, procurement, rental charges, etc...
- Attends all B&R meetings which require staff position attendance i.e. Staff, Mass Safety, internal audit meetings, etc...

- Audits all documentation which impacts planning, scheduling, and cost i.e. FCO log, Time sheets, Daily Progress, material receiving, etc...
- Notify personnel of upcoming training events and meetings to ensure personnel arrive at meeting location on time.

Others
- Develop and maintain an accident and injury free work environment predicated on compliance to all known policies, procedures, and practices.

- Make fair and consistent decisions ensuring compliance to plan, schedule, cost, policies and procedures vital to the success of our organization.
- Understand the MOC process and assure compliance with the process from all personnel working in your area of responsibility.

Required: Planning practices/processes, SAP experience, Micro-Soft Office software, Cost controls, Customer's engineering standards/specifications, ASME/ANSI/NEC/ASTM standards, Safety and Environmental procedures, OSHA Standards.
Education: (Recommended) High School Diploma or equivalent, (a plus) associate's degree in business management or similar business-related curriculum.
Required Training: OSHA 10 Hour, Brown and Root Leadership Essentials, NCCER Performance Evaluator, Process Safety Management
Technical Knowledge: OSHA Standards, Environmental Controls, Planning and Scheduling, Estimating, Quality Assurance, HSE Guidelines, General Plant Procedures
Skills: Communication, Organizational, Leadership, Teambuilding, Interpersonal Relationships, Conflict Management, Client Relations, Labor Relations, Computers, Computer Software Works close with the B&R General Foremen of the area on a daily basic (includes SAP, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook).
