Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team.
Duties & Responsibility:
· Schedule requests for transportation to available vehicles in the most timely, dependable, cost-effective manner possible.
· Receive inbound calls from the public & local entities regarding transportation services available & accurately record requests for said transportation.
· Exercise professionalism, discretion, & independent judgment in communicating with all contacts.
· Maintain effect communication between drivers & other staff regarding safe & efficient operation of transit vehicles.
· Act as a customer service agent for the agency.
· Continually monitor transit ridership to ensure most efficient utilization of transit service.
· Monitor transit system to ensure passengers are picked up & dropped off in a timely manner.
· Receive & schedule incoming request from passengers.
· Communicate with all customers equally without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, or disability & possess an awareness of human needs.
· Accurately record sale of bus tickets.
· Manage & balance cash drawer.
· Abide b all company policies & procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned – driving & scheduling.
Pre-employment Requirements & Employment Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment & be able to multi-task.
· Must have strong organization & record-keeping ability.
· Must have excellent oral & written communications kills.
· Must have high degree of customer service skills.
· Must promote a positive & enthusiastic image.
· Must have the ability to establish & maintain an effective working relationship with the general public as well as other agency employees.
· Must keep all agency matters confidential.
· Must possess a valid NE driver’s license.
· Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
· Must pass pre-employment Department of Motor Vehicles Record Check.
· Must pass criminal history background check including but not limited to: National Criminal History, National Sex Offender Registry, Social Security Number Verification, statewide criminal history check, Child Protective Services, and the statewide Sex Offender Registry.
· Must be able to properly operate the various vehicles in the agency fleet.
· Must have comprehensive knowledge of computers & related programs.
Pre-employment Requirements & Employment Qualifications:
· Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a desk.
· Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach overhead, & lift five to 10 pounds.
· Must be able to communicate clearly on telephone & two-way radio.
· Must be able to type using computer keyboard & mouse & operate phone, copier, two-way radio, & other office equipment.
· Must be able to access Transit Office.
· 75% of work is accomplished indoors & in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
· Work is accomplished in an office equipped with a telephone, two-way radio, & computer or in a company vehicle.
· Sufficient overhead & natural lighting. Task lighting may be provided.
· Exposure to generally low noise levels.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
