Job Description: The Office of College Admission at Brown University is seeking Seasonal Readers for the 2023-2024 undergraduate admission application reading season. This part-time, temporary position assists in the holistic review of first year applications for undergraduate education at Brown. All reading and review is web-based and completed remotely on a flexible schedule. Seasonal Readers are expected to commit 15-20 hours per week between mid-December and mid-March. Training will be provided in mid-December. The salary for this position is $25 an hour. Well-developed computer skills and strong writing and analytical abilities are essential; we are looking for candidates who can read carefully and quickly. A high level of confidentiality, the ability to meet deadlines, and access to a strong internet connection are necessary. Seasonal Readers are expected to perform with a high level of integrity and professionalism. A Bachelor’s degree is required; familiarity with a liberal arts education and a selective admissions process is preferred. Experience in a higher education, secondary school or other relevant educational setting is welcome. We cannot consider those who are current admission professionals, such as high school guidance counselors and independent consultants, the parents, guardians, or immediate family members of a high school senior who plans to apply to Brown, or current employees of Brown.
