This mechanic position earns a base wage of $35 / hour-$41 / hour depending on qualifications . We provide great benefits , including medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday day hours.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Inspect, repair and maintain engines, drivelines, hydraulics, fuel, air conditioning, electrical, brakes and suspensions for a fleet of 60 trucks and trailers.
Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
Excellent problem-solving skills
Keen attention to detail
Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
A valid driver's license
Good interpersonal skills
Effective collaboration and communication skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Certification and training in diesel engine repair from a vocational school or a community college.
Preferred certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence for Diesel Mechanics
