What are the responsibilities and job description for the Brick Mason position at BROWNING CHAPMAN LLC?
Browning Chapman, a rapidly growing specialty contractor with operations in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Fort Myers and Dallas is looking for experienced brick masons to work in commercial, industrial and institutional environments with our masonry crews. This position is responsible for building and repairing walls, fireplaces, and other structures with brick, terra cotta, precast masonry panels, concrete block and other masonry materials.
Responsibilities
- Estimates the materials needed for each job
- Uses equipment and tools to safely perform basic construction tasks
- Corrects any safety hazards and reports them to Foreman
- Reads and follows technical drawings
- Trains apprentices as needed to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
- Mixes cement and mortar on the job site as needed
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Must be experienced and proficient in the following:
- Tuckpointing
- Stone masonry/repair
- Masonry cleaning
- Brick/block laying
- Caulking
- Blueprint reading
- Experience in joint sealants is desired but not required
- Must be comfortable and experienced working on scaffolding, swing stages and boom lifts (comfortable with heights in general)
- Must be familiar with scaffold erection
- Must be proficient in measuring and mixing mortar and grout to specification
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a standard drug screen
Salary : $22 - $42
