BRP is seeking a Design Engineer to help develop the next generation of performance pontoon boats. The new hire will be responsible for leading design and analysis activities for mechanical components and assemblies from concept through production. WHY JOIN THE TEAM? YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO: 1. Generate accurate CAD models and engineering drawings; 2. Responsible for solving problems with limited direction; 3. Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews to generate new concepts that meet product requirements; 4. Deliver designs to the appropriate quality, cost and timing objectives; 5. Create and maintain documentation supporting product development, including tolerance studies, analysis and assembly documentation; 6. Coordinate activities involved in the design process between interdepartmental groups and between the company and outside suppliers.
YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES: Required: 1. Associates in Mechanical Design Technology 2. Minimum of 2 years of Design experience 3. Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing 4. Understanding of tolerances and stack-ups 5. Experienced in designing for multiple manufacturing processes 6. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (Lansing, MI & Palm Bay, FL)
Preferred:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred 2. Experience with Creo Parametric or Pro/E strongly preferred 3. Familiarity with aluminum fabrication, injection molded parts and fiberglass strongly preferred 4. Experience with DFMEA and FEA 5. Demonstrated passion and creativity in solving design challenges 6. Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude 7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Work schedule: There will be the opportunity at times to WFH up to 2 days per week, but it is dependent upon workloads, project timelines, etc. There will be some weeks where the person will need to be in office all week.
