Material Handler 1st Shift

We are looking for a Material Handler who will report directly to the Materials Manager. As part of your role, you’ll be on a team where we are creating new ways to get people moving forward, where their experiences are measured by emotion rather than distance. Hourly Rate: $23.45

You’ll Have The Opportunity To

• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, shipping orders, to route materials and government documentation/forms.
• Record shipment data, such as weight, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purposes.
• Contact carrier representatives to decide arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Manage shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
• Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
• Deliver or route materials to departments using hand trucks, conveyors, or sorting bins.
• Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
• Inspect equipment structures, and materials to ensure compliance with specification and standards.
• Material handling duties as assigned when not receiving.
  
  

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Required

• Active Driver's License
• Ability to operate a forklift, motorized vehicles, and mechanical equipment.
• Basic ability to enter data into computer programs, create simple Word/Excel documents and spreadsheets, correspond by email and other related computer-based activities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem solve.
• 1 year of warehouse/receiving experience.
• Regular and reliable attendance and demonstrated dependability in previous employment.

• Manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Knowledge and previous experience using basic hand and power tools.
