What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Print Operator - 2nd Shift position at Bruce Fox Inc.?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prints on wide variety of materials. These include an assortment of base materials (woods, acrylic, metals, and glass).
- Working with Design/Production Art and Sales to create digital print art - with either in-house designs or customer supplied designs. Graphic arts skill set is an advantage.
- Ability to use typography in creating graphics associated with production artwork an advantage. Must have excellent attention to detail and follow processes and procedures.
- Reads and understands work order, drawing(s) and customer order prior to starting work. Contacts Supervisor if there are any questions.
- Maintains digital resource files.
- Sets up machinery as appropriate for each production run.
- Conduct daily maintenance required on equipment.
- Operates machinery safely and efficiently. Inspect materials prior to starting work. This includes checking piece count, finish, sizing, copy, personalization, color and/or any potential quality issues. Rejects or contact Supervisor if quality issues are present.
- Responsible for insuring that work is performed in a consistent manner that results in defect free products.
- Records or logs work start and stop times and records or logs accurate amount of materials used in process.
- Inspects completed work for flaws, fixes any defects or flaws, or contacts Supervisor if quality concerns are present.
- Keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Cross trains on other jobs in department as required.
- Follows safety rules, policies and procedures as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned and necessary to maintain departmental production and a full work schedule
2nd Shift position: 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. 10 hours shift (Monday through Thursday)
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and minimum of two years experience in graphic design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop; Adobe Illustrator; Adobe InDesign software); Microsoft Office software and Corel Draw is an advantage.
- Understand 3-dimensional space, light and shadow, color theory; graphic design fundamentals.
- Prior experience with printing equipment preferred (currently using Mimaki)
