What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Manager position at Bruckner Truck Sales, Inc?
Summary:
Perform duties necessary for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the Parts Department. Advises and makes recommendations to Management with respect to the best interest of the Parts Department and compatible with the overall Dealership objectives. Performs duties necessary for the smooth operation of the Parts Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare end of month inventory total report.
- Oversee all stock orders, emergency orders, and special orders including expediting all back orders.
- Control Inventory levels and obsolescence levels.
- Oversee physical inventory from preparation to completion.
- Prepare and return monthly core return.
- Report to oversee semi-annual service parts return to Mack.
- Evaluate monthly profit and loss report for any discrepancies.
- Oversee account coding of local parts invoices from vendors.
- Answer customer phone calls, fill orders, and help customers at parts counter when necessary.
- Hire and discharge personnel in parts department.
- Train parts personnel, which include outside and counter salespersons, parts clerk, shipping and receiving clerk, and parts runner.
- Be able to operate all parts equipment, and oversee maintenance of equipment.
- Periodically visits primary customers to monitor customer relations, their needs, problems, and satisfactions with distributorship performance, especially parts related items.
Marginal Job Tasks:
Display and arrange parts for point of purchase specials.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum high school diploma required. Degree or college credits toward Management or business. Must be willing to take continuing education courses as deemed necessary.
Work Experience:
Three years or more experience in the operation of a heavy duty truck parts department. At least one year experience in the operation of a computerized inventory control system.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
