What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Brunel?
Brunel is currently searching for a Controller for direct hire with our mining client located in Kern County, California . Approximately 20 minutes outside of LA County.
Reporting to the Mine Finance Manager, as Controller you will have 3 direct reports on the Finance team consisting of Accountants and Coordinator. This role collaborates with the Finance Manager and corporate team to drive financial performance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements and ensure accurate reporting.
- Manage financial controls, audits, and compliance.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Lead the mine site finance team and month-end close.
- Analyze financial performance and drive process improvements.
- Support ERP implementation and other financial projects.
- This role is hands on.
Qualifications & Skills
Offer :
Full-time, direct hire with salary range $120-160K. Position includes bonus, 5% 401K match, full-benefits and potential relocation package. This role will be required to work on-site at the mine and is generally a compressed work week of four 10-hour days. Flexible for more hours during month-end, quarterly and year-end close.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
