Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Material Handler to join our team on a long-term contract position. This role will be located at our client's mine site in Bagdad, Arizona. The successful candidate will be responsible for expediting the movement of parts and materials between laydown areas. This involves listing or moving raw materials and/or parts under close supervision. They will also prepare and coordinate schedules for pulling and delivering materials to control the flow of goods. In addition, they will safely operate equipment such as forklifts and trucks to move materials between warehouse and laydown areas.
Main Responsibilities:
• Unload trucks, trailers, and containers of freight, counting products and comparing them to manifests to check for damage, infestation, or production code dates. Report any shortages, damages, or mis-shipments on appropriate forms. Sign for inbound shipments when necessary.
• Ensure that construction work packages (CWPs), quantities, and types (lots, batches, serial numbers) of products are picked. Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery areas using material handling equipment such as fork trucks, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks. Label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize as required.
• Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently, complying with company standards and MSHA requirements.
• Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts. Ensure proper stock rotation and make key inventory adjustments in the computer.
• Repack or re-box cases per customer instructions. Stack and separate good from bad pallets when necessary. Clean trailers, trucks, and laydown areas as requested.
Qualifications:
We require candidates to have an additional course after high school and 3 years' experience. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience and 5 years' experience is acceptable. Successful candidates must be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 25 kg. They must also be able to handle stress caused by meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Other essential skills include shifting priorities easily, having responsible work habits, being familiar with warehouse systems, and being able to use Microsoft Office tools and company software.
