Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Instructor to join our team. As a BJJ Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching and coaching students of various skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, in both group and private class settings. You will help develop our students’ skills, foster a positive and motivating environment, and encourage a strong sense of community and discipline in line with the values of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Responsibilities
- Teach BJJ classes for students of all ages and skill levels.
- Plan and structure lessons to ensure steady progression in techniques, positions, and drills.
- Provide personalized instruction to help students refine their skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes mutual respect, discipline, and self-improvement.
- Maintain a safe and clean training space, ensuring the safety of all participants.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrate BJJ techniques and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Assist with promotions, events, and competitions as needed.
- Build relationships with students and their families to enhance student retention and growth
Qualifications
- Certified Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt (preferred) or Purple Belt and up with significant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching BJJ in a school or academy setting (preferred).
- Strong understanding of BJJ techniques and the ability to explain and demonstrate them clearly.
- Passionate about martial arts and the BJJ community.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all ages and experience levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.
