The Organization:
Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District is home to 18,000 residents. Formed initially as Williamson County Municipal Utility District No. 2 in 1977, BCMUD provides water and wastewater services, recreational activities, beautiful gardens, parks, and miles of trails through the Brushy Creek community. BCMUD operates four swimming pools, four tennis courts, and a disc golf course throughout the community.
At the heart of our District is the Brushy Creek Community Center. Our Community Center features two gyms, two racketball courts, weight room, rock wall, and recreational programming, including various fun activities, educational and fitness classes.
Brushy Creek employs approximately 190 seasonal, part-time, and full-time team members.
Recreation Assistant:
Brushy Creek MUD is hiring a high-energy, organized, and friendly Recreation Assistant to support successfully planning, coordinating, and implementing recreational programs and community events. This role assists the Programs Supervisor in executing daily recreational activities, classes, and programs while also providing direct support to the Community Events Specialist for larger community events and gatherings. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills, enthusiasm for working with diverse groups, and a passion for fostering community engagement.
Job Duties:
- Supports the Supervisor in organizing and executing various recreational activities, including sports, fitness classes, and arts and crafts.
- Assists with program setup, participant registration, tracking attendance, and managing equipment and supplies.
- Engages with participants of all ages, ensuring they feel welcomed, supported, and engaged in activities
- Provides information to the public regarding program offerings, schedules, fees, and registration.
- Assists in monitoring and ensuring participant safety and maintaining program rules and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Community Events Specialist in planning, promoting, and executing community events such as festivals, parades, holiday celebrations, and seasonal activities.
- Helps with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, chairs, decorations, and signage.
- Assists in monitoring crowd control, ensuring event safety, and responding to attendee questions or concerns
Minimum Requirement:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; effectively engaging with a diverse audience.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by program schedules and community events
- Maintain current certification/license or ability to attain certification/license within 90 days of hire:
- American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED.
Schedule: Part-time 30-39 hours weekly
- Shift: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm
