Position Overview
The Bryan County Schools principal will provide instructional leadership to all staff within his / her building, with a focus on building teacher capacity that improves instruction and student achievement. The principal is expected to build an equitable and sustainable positive culture within the building that is committed to the ongoing development and well-being of its students, teachers and staff.
The principal must be thoroughly familiar with the current teacher and administrator evaluation system and share the belief that all young people deserve access to an excellent education, as well as have a proven track record of attaining exemplary academic results. The candidate must also possess strong organizational, operational and interpersonal skills, and be a flexible and creative problem-solver.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of a Master's degree (Specialist degree or higher preferred) from an accredited college / university with an emphasis in supervision, educational leadership and school curriculum;
- Must possess or meet the qualifications for Georgia Educational certification through Georgia Professional Standards Commission in the field of Educational Leadership or equivalent out-of-state leadership certification;
- Prior experience in school leadership activities required;
- Other combinations of applicable education, training and experience may be considered which provide the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in this position.
