Summary:
As part of the senior leadership team, this role is responsible for managing the overall financial operations of Brix Marine, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position leads the company’s accounting functions by establishing and maintaining strong accounting principles, practices, and procedures while continuously improving and updating accounting systems to align with business growth and operational needs.

Duties:
• Maintain and optimize operational accounting and reporting systems for efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial accounting and reporting activities including but not limited to AP, AR & Payroll.
• Manage the preparation and timely submittal of company payroll, including administrative duties pertaining to benefits.
• Verify all payments made and oversee check signing processes.
• Conduct bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Manage cash flow and optimize cash utilization through effective cash management strategies.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of periodic inventory reports.
• Prepare and submit monthly POC (Percentage of Completion) calculations according to the Closing Schedule.
• Prepare and submit monthly Financial Reports according to the Closing Schedule.
• Monitor the company's credit score and financial references to assess creditworthiness and mitigate financial risks.
• Prepare and submit an Annual Budget while assisting budget owners to organize and report annual and monthly budget performance.
• Handle administrative tasks related to employee benefits.
• Support training and development programs for finance and accounting staff.
• Provide support for job costing processes to accurately allocate costs and track project expenses.
• Assist budget owners in organizing and reporting annual and monthly budget performance.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing law, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence, filing financial reports, and advising management accordingly.
• Collaborate with the Management Team in setting and achieving the company’s annual long-term Strategic Plans.
• Support company training and development programs.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
• 4-year degree in finance/accounting.
• Either a CPA license or intent to achieve a CPA license.
• 5 years of accounting experience. Manufacturing company experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software. QuickBooks preferred.
• Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
Environment: Work is performed in offices adjacent to a metal manufacturing facility. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Manual dexterity is required to use computers, phones, and peripherals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Travel throughout Washington State and British Columbia may be required.
