A Circle Ten Council camp health officer is a member of a team that is responsible for creating and guiding a program that provides opportunities for scouts to learn skills, earn associated merit badges, and participate in open programs which expose them to new experiences. As the Health Officer you will oversee the safety and well-being for up to 750 individual participants and staff that may be on camp at any time.
The camp health officer is at least 18 years of age, lives on-site, is always on property and on call, and holds qualifications appropriate for the nature of the camp and its proximity to emergency medical care. Please see : Camp Health Officer Training for LONG-TERM Camp
Qualifications :
- Willingness to be a member of the Boy Scouts of America
- Training and experience sufficient to meet the needs of the assigned position
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to attend BSA training and obtain certification as necessary
- Experience working with youth and teaching in an outdoor environment a plus
- Scouting experience, a plus but not required.
- Must be a current trained and certified EMT Basic, Paramedic or higher (preferred)
