Consumer Intelligence Manager

Irvine, CA/ Full-time

Your Responsibilities

The Consumer Intelligence Manager will support the North American Region in analysis of the context of use, specifying consumer needs and consumer requirements, initiating the solution creation, and carrying out usability/UX evaluations. This role will champion curiosity, openness (thinking outside the box), and explore the underlying needs of consumers as well as support the estimating of consumer value creation by aspects of the product definition based on consumer needs. They will be responsible for continuous improvement of the User Experiences across all touchpoints and translate data and observations into a compelling story that leads to innovation, outstanding consumer experiences, and increased consumer engagement.

  • Be the consumer champion: Implement market research to support future innovations for the Bosch & Thermador consumer (e.g. ethnographic studies, qualitative, quantitative, etc.)
  • Support various areas of the business to gain clarity and certainty in specifying consumer centric solutions
  • Conduct research using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques, including in-person & remote Interviews, Field Studies, Usability Tests, UX Tests, Workshops, Surveys, and Product Clinics
  • Manage information and gather relevant data to identify patterns, trends, relationships and key issues within the market to make effective decisions relating to consumer wants and needs
  • Design and facilitate workshops and ideation sessions to help translate consumer insights into product or experience ideas.

  • Consumer research and consumer requirement analysis
  • Creation of artefacts (e.g. storyboards, user flows and Personas) to effectively communicate consumer needs
  • Run consumer usage journey definition and improvement workshops. Facilitate synthesis, ideation and early concept creation workshops.
  • Preparation and execution of formative and summative UX / usability tests
  • Recommendation for UX improvements based on Consumer feedback
  • Setting UX goals and tracking their fulfillment for a given solution creation process
  • Implementing and driving Lean Startup, Lean UX and Predictive UX approaches in product development
  • Collaborate closely with departments namely Business Units, Industrial Design, Brands, Sales, Consumer Products, Customer Service, and Digital Business in consumer journey touchpoint research.
  • Analyze large amounts of data to identify consumer behavior trends and shifts.
  • Research activities around commercialization of Small & Major Domestic Appliances namely market and product fit research, pre & post launch consumer research, positioning, media mix, creative, etc. for existing or near market products
  • Provide support to Brands and sell-through managers in marketing campaign planning through creative testing for claims, audience segmentation, and marketing mix modeling to achieve brand awareness targets
  • Drive digital consumer experience researches namely SERP test, owner behavior, consumer profiling, point of sale & point of use tests, and digital touchpoints UX tests
  • Establish strong, collaborative working relationships with external vendors/suppliers to ensure that deliverables are consistent with project research objectives
  • Be a trusted advisor and go-to-person within the organization for sharing UX challenges and crafting innovative UX solutions

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, Research, Communications, Design, Behavioral Research, User Research, Social Psychology) – Required
  • Master's Degree (Business, Marketing, Research, Communications, Design, Behavioral Research, User Research, Social Psychology) – Preferred
  • 5-7 Years of Experience (User Experience design and testing, consumer research) – Required
  • Experience with agile tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of behavioral research design, user-centered design principles and primary research tools
  • Mastery of qualitative research methods, including research scope and design
  • Competent in design principles with a broad range of consumer oriented research methodologies
  • Experience in writing discussion guides, moderator guides, screeners, test protocols, and final report
  • Ability to work and influence with all levels of employees and outside consumers.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Consumer Insights and UX Skills:
  • Plan, execute and manage a UX design process based on UX goals setting
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative UX research methodologies
  • Create artefacts for consumer needs and requirements communication
  • Plan, prepare and execute qualitative and quantitative procedures of consumer driven concept validation

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

Benefits offered include the following:

  • Wellness Plan that allows participating employees to earn lower medical care premiums.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan starting on the first day of the calendar month following 30 days of service. The plan provides a fully vested 100% employer match on the first 4% of compensation contributed and also includes an annual employer-funded profit sharing contribution dependent on company profitability.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.
  • Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.
  • The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).
  • 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
  • 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
  • Adoption Reimbursement Program, Perks at Work, and BSH Employee Purchase Program.
  • BSH provides ongoing product training, uniforms, computer tablet, cell phone and a company vehicle for eligible positions.
