Head of Product Management, Cooling

Irvine, CA/ Full-time

Your Responsibilities

The Head of Product Management reports to the Head of Business unit Cooling and is responsible for strategic input to product management as well as execution from concept to product launch. This includes describing requirements, closely collaborating with the team, accepting or rejecting work results, and steering the project by tracking and forecasting its progress.

As the Head of Product Management Manager at our esteemed global luxury appliance manufacturing company, you will play a pivotal role in leading the product management team to drive innovation, develop world-class products, and enhance our market position in the United States. This position requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, analytical problem solving, and cross-functional management. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch, and ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and customer needs. A passion for consumer centric product management and creation is central to success.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and execute product strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and market trends.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and prioritize product initiatives.
  • Define product roadmap and long-term vision, considering market demands, technological advancements, and consumer preferences.
  • Brief research team and assist in creation and execution of consumer intelligence focus groups and studies.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the product management team, and provide guidance to ensure successful execution.
  • Promote professional development and growth opportunities for team members, encouraging continuous learning and skill enhancement.
  • Product Development and Launch:
  • Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation to commercialization, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and sales to drive product innovation and meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate product launches, including go-to-market strategies, pricing, messaging, and sales enablement activities.
  • Create launch toolkit in collaboration with brand marketing team to enable consumer facing campaigns, retail assets, and digital marketing presence.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, customers, partners, and suppliers.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop effective product positioning, messaging, and marketing campaigns.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company's product portfolio, representing the brand at industry events, conferences, and media engagements.
  • Presentations to senior leadership in North America and Globally.

Performance Measurement and Optimization:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze market trends, customer feedback, and sales data to identify areas for product optimization and enhancement.
  • Make data-driven decisions to maximize product profitability and market share.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field) – Required
  • Master's Degree (Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field) – Preferred
  • 7-10 Years of Experience (Product Marketing experience) – Required
  • 5-7 Years of Experience (Project Management experience) – Required
  • 3-5 Years of Experience (People Leadership experience) – Required
  • Proven experience in product management, with a track record of successfully launching and managing product lifecycle.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive collaboration, and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects from concept to execution.
  • Knowledge of product development methodologies, market research techniques, and competitive analysis tools.
  • Passion for understanding of consumer preferences and market trends.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Travel Percentage – 30%

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

Benefits offered include the following:

  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long term disability benefits, employee assistance program (EAP), Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Account (HSA) participation starting on the first day of the calendar month following date of hire.
  • Wellness Plan that allows participating employees to earn lower medical care premiums.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan starting on the first day of the calendar month following 30 days of service. The plan provides a fully vested 100% employer match on the first 4% of compensation contributed and also includes an annual employer-funded profit sharing contribution dependent on company profitability.
  • Two weeks of paid vacation for all non-temporary status new hires below Director level positions. Vacation entitlement increases based on years of service with BSH.
  • Unlimited paid vacation for all Director and above level positions.
  • The greater of (a) 40 hours of paid sick leave or (b) state or local minimum requirements for paid leave (Non-Production Line).
  • 40 hours of paid personal leave (Production Line).
  • 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
  • Adoption Reimbursement Program, Perks at Work, and BSH Employee Purchase Program.
  • BSH provides ongoing product training, uniforms, computer tablet, cell phone and a company vehicle for eligible positions.
