National Transportation Manager

New Bern, NC / Full-time

Your Responsibilities

National Transportation Manager is responsible for ensuring the most cost-effective and target-oriented distribution of home appliances to BSH customers in USA.

• Co-creates and implements distribution strategy for BSH USA
• Responsible for the development, roll-out and update of BSH distribution processes and standards for transportation companies, especially in terms of means of transportation, IT system(s), domestic deliveries models
• Ongoing monitoring of implementation of assigned standards, requirements and tasks by transportation companies
• Ensures a proper know-how transfer to transportation companies and warehouses related to the BSH processes being a part of domestic distribution
• Organize regular audits of services provided to BSH by transportation companies according to defined scope and schedule; implementation of corrective actions resulting from the audits
• Cooperation with all logistics structures in order to optimize the distribution operation and service level to the customers
• Partners with Order Management department and Sales department in order to optimize the service level to the customers; organizes regular meetings with each department on monthly or quarterly basis
• Works closely with customers to ensure expected service levels are being met
• Works closely with transportation companies to ensure expected service levels are being met
• Ensure cost and invoice control system for USA distribution services according to BSH regulations
• Participates in the business plan process for freight cost group; responsibility for the freight cost group domestic
• Regular monitoring of transportation companies performance; responsibility for achieving of assumed process indicators of the tasks performed
• Make ongoing decisions in the event of irregularities or changes in the cooperation with the transportation companies in order to ensure expected service level
• Creation of reporting system on domestic distribution; analysis of the results obtained and proposing improvement actions
• Participates in projects, working groups and committees as necessary
• Responsible for employee management and development of direct reports
• Ensures safe working conditions for direct reports
• Performs other duties as assigned
  
  

Your profile

• Bachelor’s degree (Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Transportation, or similar area) – Required
• 7-10 Years of Experience (Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation or similar area) – Required
• 5-7 Years of Experience (Supervisory or Management role) – Required
• Knowledge of international and domestic transportation regulations
• Knowledge of Customs Compliance
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Strong organizational and problem solving skills
• Strong leadership capabilities in overseeing staff and operations
• Travel Percentage – 30%
  
  

Your Pay & Benefits

The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the payments range from 0% to 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

Benefits offered include the following:

• 12 days of paid holidays per year (max 8 hours paid per day).
