Lab Tech II
New Bern, NC/ Full-time
Your responsibilities
The Technician II; Labs & Approvals is responsible for testing that involves new product development and regulatory testing. Because new product development schedules are always short, it is important to setup and perform meaningful tests in a timely manner. High value decisions are based on few tests so it is important that test results are accurate and well documented.
Major duties and/or responsibilities to be performed which account for more than 10% of the job or are critical to the successful performance of the job. (List the job duties in the order of overall importance.)
· Build test fixtures or equipment from drawings or specifications.
· Setup Tests: Build test enclosures, Thermocouple test products.
· Setup data acquisition system (Labview, LabTech).
· Setup and test gas components.
· Summarize test data results.
· Plot data in graphic form as required.
· Maintain test report records.
· Help engineers and others understand the tests and data.
· Keep lab clean and orderly.
· Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile
- · Associate degree (Engineering) – Required
- · Bachelor’s degree (Engineering) – Preferred
- · Certification (Six Sigma Green Belt Certification) – Preferred
- · 3-5 Years of Experience (Product testing experience in high quality consumer appliances) – Required
- · Sound basic knowledge of gas combustion and electricity.
- · Computer literate with experience in MS Excel and Access.
- · Some local travel may be required.
- · Ability to layout and build test cabinets and fixtures.
- · Good appliance and component testing knowledge.
- · Ability to use laboratory instruments and fixtures.
- · Ability to handle confidential information relating to: units in the development state, product development plans and schedules, or detailed product performance and weakness data.
- · Experience with National Instruments Labview Data Acquisition system.
- · Networked PCs

Your Pay & Benefits
The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title. Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location. If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the maximum payout potential is 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.

Salary : $44,000 - $58,000
