JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will focus primarily on prospecting and building the sales pipeline, generating new leads for our account executives. The BDR will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and contributing to the growth of our company. You will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to generate leads, qualify prospects, and drive revenue growth.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contact potential clients through cold calls, emails and social media.
  • Customize sales outreach messaging to drive prospect engagement.
  • Maintain and grow an existing prospect database.
  • Set up meetings or calls between prospective clients and sales executives.
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities.
  • Proactively seek out new prospects in expanding markets.
  • Present our company and services to potential clients in sales communications.
  • Assist in the development of outreach messaging with the marketing team.
  • Maintain appropriate record keeping in Salesforce.
  • Report to the Chief Growth Officer on (weekly / monthly / quarterly) sales results.
  • OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Displays professional conduct that acts as a positive example for the team.
  • Protects confidential material, procedure manuals, and methods of doing business.
  • Keeps Outlook calendar up to date and accessible.
  • Responsive to the organization, team, partners, clients, and prospects.
  • Maintains open lines of communication.
  • ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit at a desk in office of location each normal workday.
  • Ability to use personal computer.
  • Ability to speak and hear in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to travel locally as well as out of town to prospect and carrier locations.
  • Must have insured vehicle and PA driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years in a Business Development role with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding goals.
  • BS degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • Prior work experience in Business Development, Sales, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls).
  • Track record of achieving sales activity targets.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Familiarity with analyzing spreadsheets and charts utilizing Google Sheets, MS Excel and data visualization platforms including PowerBI or Salesforce dashboards.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and sales persuasion skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging communications to support Round 1 meeting bookings.
