As a Concierge you will serve as the central point of contact for residents in a retirement community, providing personalized and professional support to enhance the living experience. This role involves services such as, but not limited to laundry pick-up/delivery, furniture assembly, picture hanging, pet check-ins, yardwork, and other requested tasks, while assisting with front desk operations, addressing inquiries, and maintaining clear communication with local service providers. With a focus on exceptional service, the Concierge fosters a welcoming environment, builds positive relationships with residents, and ensures resident needs are met with efficiency and care.

What you will do in this role:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for residents, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
  • Respond promptly to resident inquiries and coordinate requested services.
  • Schedule and communicate with service providers to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
  • Assist with front desk operations, including answering calls, responding to emails, and handling in-person inquiries.
  • Provide residents with accurate information about community services, activities, and resources.
  • Maintain organized records of service requests, schedules, invoices, and vendor communications.
  • Build positive relationships with residents to foster a sense of community and ensure satisfaction.
  • Address resident concerns and escalate issues as necessary to the resident director.
  • Monitor and restock front desk supplies or village store as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support community events or initiatives as needed to enhance resident engagement and participation.

Qualifications – Concierge:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer-first mindset
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents and local vendors
  • Background in customer service, hospitality, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in coordinating services and managing schedules
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintains professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Committed to enhancing the resident experience

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a customer service-related role preferred

Equipment and Computer Operations:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools is beneficial

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license

Work Schedule: Core work hours are 8am through 5pm., Monday through Friday. Flexibility in hours, to include working evenings, weekends, and holidays, may be required on occasion

Work Location: All Blue Skies of Texas locations.

Attire/Dress Code: Normal, comfortable, business casual clothing adequate for indoors and outdoors is appropriate for wear on the job. It is the intent of Blue Skies of Texas that employees always maintain a neat and professional appearance.

Range of Pay: Dependent upon qualifications and experience with the intent to be competitive within the market.

In 1970, the first of our two campuses opened in San Antonio. Air Force Village I was followed in 1987 by Air Force Village II. For decades, our campuses created a community for officers of the armed forces - a retirement lifestyle rich with camaraderie and the shared common bond. We began by providing support to the widows of those who have served, and that legacy continues. In 2014, we expanded our eligibility to embrace a wider range of retired seniors, including those from civilian careers. With this change, a new name - Blue Skies of Texas - was added, and the campuses were renamed Blue Skies East and Blue Skies West. Continuing to offer modern residences and a range of senior-focused services and amenities, the Air Force Village legacy we cherish carries forward in Blue Skies of Texas.
